The Vedsted
generation, comes from Vester Vedsted
near Ribe, and the oldest known from that generation, are Peder Mikkelsen Degn – (Degn is an old
danich work for teacher ) in oald days peapole often took a larst name, the
same as there profecion. He died in Vester Vedsted 19. septmber 1773 86 years
oald. Than he must have bee born in
1687. But his birth is not in the Vester Vedsted curch, sow he might not bee
born there. He are maby from Hvidding or Raunsø, because when his son Michael
were christened, the godfathers ( in
denmark we often have 2 or 4 ) are Peder Hansen Lundsmark, Jens Madsen Hvidding
and Dorethe Andersdatter Ravnsø.
If he has
been at teacher, ore he just had the name Degn, is there no information about.
Michael Vedsted
born in Vester Vedsted 5 juli 1715, has a bright young man, because he study –
peapole not from the city often did’nt goo too school in those days. When he
was 21 years he got his deploma from university Ribe Latinskole, and here he
took the name Vedsted.
When he was
29 year oald his first som was born ( Peder) at that time he was a teacher in
Nykirke and Fåborg, but he livede in
Raunsø. He also diede there 12. juli 70 of age. His wife Margrethe was born in
1708, she died 2. december 1795 86 years of age. They hade 3 known
children Peder, Ellen and Povel
Povel was
married to Giertrud Brygger 11. july 1777
Peder
Vedsted startet as a teacher working with his father in 1778, and continued
after his father stopet working. Peder’s
first wife Bodil Kirstine, was mother of 2 children, who never made it too
adolthood. ( they died young)
Bodil
Kirstine deid july 1791 30 year of age.
Peder’s 2. wife Mette pedersdatter, who was daugther
of Peder Cristensen from Tomp Mølle ( Tomp Mill) Faaborg. She was born in 1762,
soo she was 18 years younger than her husbond. They were marryed the 25.
november 1791, 4 months after Bodil Kristines parst on. What was unusual in
those days because you usual mouringed the year after.
They got 3
children : Bodil Kirstine, Margrethe and Peder Pedersen Vedsted.
Peder
Christensen Tomp Mølle deid 1793 74 years of age. His Children was Christen,
Mette, Herman, Anna and Ellen.
Christen
Pedersen got the mill from his father who was married to Ellen Nielsdatter,
Ellen deied in juni 1798. But before the year was gone Christen Pedersen
married one of his servants Ellen Mortensdatter fro Vejrup. And ther first
chield was born 2. marts 1799. In the Church book it was written down that the
child Herman was , stupid and he had a fall – he migth had been deaf and an
epileptic.
Peder
Vedsted døde 14. october 1823 79 years of age. Hid wife Mette dieid 4. august
1815 54 years of age. There oaldest daughter Bodil Kirstine got married in
1818, with Hans Michael Jensen Raunsø. He deied 27. januar 1822 only 27 years
oald, and a few months later ther youngest child deid. There daugther Ane
Rosine Raunsø, deied also wery young.
There
oaldest daugther Marie Methea born 22. april 1819 ( deid 4. november 1889 ) got
married to Laust Hansen – called Laust Gine – on Krogsgaards Mark. They only
got one child Hansine Margrethe born 1. november 1860. She got married to
Kristian Gregersen.
Bodil
Kirstine Raunsø was a widow in 6 months, she married Christen Madsen Biltoft.
Peder
Vedsted’s daughter Margrethe born 1. marts 1796, was married in 1817 with Jens
Mathiasen Wind from Jedsted, they had a small farm in Høe Near Bramminge.
There
children was Hans Jensen Wind, he later got the farm in Høe, Peder Wind got
married til the midwife in Vester Nebel, Mette Wind was married to Hans Peder
Christensen who made lace for a living.
He soald
sow menu that he made a small fortune. But he lost it when he baugt at small
farm. And he had too wander with his lace agin. He mostly walked on food from
town to town, where he visit ritch peapole. He alsoe visitet the Royel fameliy.
Ane Wind
married Hans Peder Pedersen from Grimstrup, and they bought a farm in Vandflod,
near Oksby. Hans Peder Pedersen, was a
farmer and a fisher, one time when a boat was strandet on Horns Rev, when they ( salwor ? ) the ship his boat sank, and Hans P.
Pedersen drowned in a young age.
Peder
Vedsted’s son Peder Pedersen Vedsted born 1. marts 1799 ( deid 9. may 1873 )
was a cabinetmaker, and livede in Vong. He married Grete Mette Clemensdatter, born 1801 and they
got 11 children – but 7 of them deid wery young. His 4 sones alsoe learned the
cabinetmaker profecion, They were Clemen Peder Vedsted livede in Ribe, Peder
Michael Vedsted, Søren Vedsted and August Vedsted. The larst 3 was living in
Copenhagen. His Daughter Mette Vedsted got married and lived on Endrup Mark.
August
Vedsted hade a daugther hwo was very tall ( nearly 2 meters) she earned money
by traweling around in europe with a dwarf. She deid young of tuberculosis.
There was
several in that famely that was tall.
